HBO Max's rebrand to simply "Max" goes into effect today and the service is marking the launch by increasing its 4K content eightfold. Max Ultimate Ad Free ($19.99/month or $199.99/year): concurrent streams, 4K Ultra HD resolution content, 100 offline downloads, immersive audio with Dolby Atmos (may include restrictions in some content categories). The expanded 4K UHD content catalogue will comprise more than 1,000 movies and TV episodes.
Prominent Kids Experience
To prevent children from opting out of the Kids Profile. By default, the Kids profile is set to only allow access to content rated PG and TV-PG or lower.

Ad Formats
The ad experience on Max with the ad plan will continue to offer among the industry's lightest ad loads (3-4 minutes per hour), the company says. Max will combine the advertising formats of HBO Max and Discovery+. These include traditional pre-roll ads (15 seconds), mid-roll ads (15 or 30 seconds), takeovers (which allow an advertiser to be the first ad that all users see on a platform for a day), pre- with ownership.
